⚠️⚠️My poor rating is for the owner not the service⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Today I was in this place, the girls attending were very nice and I had no issues with them. I had a coffee and looking at the beach was super nice sunset moment. HOWEVER! when I went to pay it was the owner I guess, Italian speaker man on the bar, I asked to pay and already just to ask me what was that I had was super rude. He then told me I need to tell him what table I was, I didn't know I was trying to speak Spanish, and remember the name of what I had. Once I told him he was upset checking what table I was, he then told me the price, I gave him a 500 escudos note as I didn't have all the bill in coins. Then he started to tell me in very bad manners "i had to come prepare" as he didn't have change and needed coins. Is my first time in this place and I have the money but not how he wants it. But is the bar resposability to have enough change for all the customers. I worked in hospitality and it was very rude. Is not what you say but how you say it. I'm sad that with this beautiful place and their people, this person is there managing really badly. Is not a good image for Cabo Verde and their people. Be prepared for all type of money amounts, get change prepared and if you don't have it be nice at least! It doesn't matter how stressed you might be, to be in restaurants, bars and facing customers you gotta learn how to talk first.

Extremely slow service, which can happen if it’s only 2 people and there is communication. However, when we said something about it he didn’t excuse himself and said that we got the coffee we ordered and made bad excuses. The owner forget the whole order we made and is not aware of who is sitting and waiting.

Nice beach bar with sun loungers and umbrella at very good price. Toilets and shower facilities. Extensive menu, but very limited availability. Food prices higher than nearby places.

It's nice and blue at Tortuga beach bar, Maio Island. The sunset from here is especially beautiful. The pier and harbour are visible and it offers launch, drinks and more.
