Our stay at Sakaroulè was fantastic in every respect! The property is just steps away from the pedestrian area of Santa Maria and the beaches, yet it is nestled in a truly local neighborhood where you can experience the authentic Cape Verdean atmosphere. Breakfast is generous (including a sweet pastry, a savory dish, cereal with milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, and jam), and the menu changes daily with homemade specialties. Paola is a wonderful host. She gave us countless recommendations on what to see, suggested itineraries and places to eat, and truly helped make our vacation in Sal unforgettable.

Good location, close to the city center, restaurants, supermarkets. Self-check-in possible, they leave the key. Friendly staff. Simple small breakfast with delicious coffee from Cape Verde. Clean room. After check-out, there is an opportunity to leave things in a locked storage room, which was convenient. Administrator Manu, as it seemed to me, was too insistent when he proposed a transfer from the airport. They do not give any shower gel or similar, when the administrator came, he was able to find me some old broken piece of soap - I do not consider this normal, even for a budget place. Bed was not very comfortable for me.

We loved staying at Sakaroule. The building is beautiful and Paola (the host) is really adorable and gave us a lot of good recommendations for the surroundings. The location is perfect. You live next to locals and are far away from all the huge hotel resorts. It's not far to walk to the beach and the center. The only thing that wasn't that positive was the heat in our room, but with a ventilator it's okay. We will book again if we come back to Sal. Thank you Paola!

BEST PLACE IN SANTA MARIA! Thanks, Paola, for the amazing stay we had at Sakaroule! We (two friends) stayed at Sakaroule for a wingfoiling trip. It’s just a 5–10 minute walk to Ponta Leme, where we had our gear stored. The house is lovely, and Paola is the perfect host! Breakfast was just right for us, and the room was cleaned every day. There are local restaurants right next door, and you can walk anywhere in Santa Maria. We really enjoyed our time there — thanks again, Paola!

A estadia foi magnifica! The host Paola is so warm and welcoming, all of the staff is super friendly and professional, it is superb! If we come back to Sal we will definitely book again. Close to everything but still a little out of the busy tourist area close to the beach, between locals and Paola has the most amazing tips to explore in Santa Maria (food and sightseeing) the rooms are spacious, well equipped and we had a good shower and plenty of water even though there is currently a water crisis in Sal. Good price quality and fresh breakfast. We will come back again!
