We had a great stay at Casa da Luz. Very friendly people, spacious 2-bedroom apartment, stunning views. The location is perfect to see the highlights of Mindelo, walk to the ferry, etc. Plenty of towels, bed sheets, blankets, etc. Must climb stairs.

The room with a bathroom was very well located, especially if you have to catch a boat the next day. The only downside was the bedding, which could be better, but the manager was very friendly, as was my receptionist. Regarding the noise mentioned in the reviews, it's a cultural thing in Cape Verde; people are noisy (in the street, in restaurants, cafes, etc.). It's the same with Neapolitans; what can you do, that's just how it is 😉 I think that, depending on the other guests in the residence, it also affects the experience. Some people slam doors, others don't. Personally, I wasn't bothered by it.

Well-located hotel, excellent value for money. The host is really friendly, attentive, and bends over backwards to accommodate you if needed. We had an excellent stay. I recommend it.

I had a wonderful stay in the top-floor studio with its spacious terrace and magnificent view. The staff will be happy to help if needed, and the location is ideal for exploring Mindelo on foot.

Good location, close to the port and the city center. But, like everywhere in Mindelo, it's awful at night. Dilapidated and dirty both inside and out, the rooms smell terribly of mold. The toiletries are actually shampoo and shower gel left behind by previous guests. The bed is noisy, and the pillow is unsatisfactory.
