This place was a letdown. Unlike other accommodations on the island that make you feel welcome, this resort feels isolated, cold and uninviting. From arrival to departure, there was very little sense of hospitality. The breakfast is extremely basic, with very limited options and poor overall quality. Definitely not what you would expect even for a short stay. The room smelled strongly of bleach, to the point of being uncomfortable, as if heavy chemicals were used instead of proper ventilation and cleaning. In addition, the windows were very dirty, which completely ruins the view and gives a general feeling of neglect. The atmosphere is quiet, but not in a peaceful or cozy way — more in a lonely and lifeless sense. Overall, the place lacks warmth, care and attention to detail. It may work for travelers with very low expectations, but for anyone looking for comfort, character or a welcoming environment, there are much better options nearby.

The hotel is well located in a very beautiful environment. The location is very convenient to start the cruzinha -> ponta de sol trail, The staff is very friendly also. However there is a lot of room for improvement. Starting by the absence of toilet paper in the room, by wifi not working, and the fact that the bathrooms smell of sewage, especially noticeable middle of the night. The pool was unusable, and we had a mosquito party in the room, so we don't recommend leaving any windows open. Breakfast was ok with some variety.

The location and the room were good,but not as mentioned. First of all, there was no water in the swimmingpool . When we asked about it, the owner said, who wants to swimm in the winter! Later he said that on Booking.com it was written that in win tertime, there was no water in the pool. But we looked and could not find it. Also he said that in the past when there was water in the pool, that people didn't swim, not even with one toe in the water. He referred us to the beach, but there was always a red flag and the water was to rough to swim. Also there was no electric kettle in the room (on Booking it is mentioned there is one) and there was only one sunbed, which was broken. The older owner speaks different languages including Dutch, but he was keeping distant from the guests. He ordered for for us a great lanndcruiser taxi.

I have never been welcomed as warmly as by the person at the restaurant. She prepared us an incredibly delicious dish. Furthermore, the rooms are clean, and the view is stunning. I recommend it to everyone.

Although set in an amazing spot, the manager is the most obnoxious, unfriendly, and hypocritical person we met during our trip. Very unaccomodating. The rest of the staff is very nice though, especially the smily cook. The rooms are set in a spectacular setting, but have a run down feeling.
