Clean Hotel with super Friendly Staff and reasonable Pricing. For me its 4,5 Stars. We are not in Europe - so there will always be things that you can‘t control. Only thing I would suggest - add one Trash Bin for the Room - another Bottle of Water of the Room is occupied by 2 - add another Toiletpaper and lastly Check the Shower Interior for functionality. These are peanuts - would still Recommend this Hotel to Everyone looking to go here. Thanks guys!

They offered a buffed for a reasonable fixed price but the 370 ml local wine they recommended served cost almost more than the buffet! Be aware and ask for the price first. Checking out at 16h00 or even 22h00 for an additional fee is a great feature! Pool has realy cold salt water.

The hotel is nice, and the rooms too... the staff is OK. There are some, rather small BUT. More smile would be great (only Ana Melo was exceptionally smiling and doing her job with enthusiasm). The sweeping just around outside restaurant table during breakfast was really BAD idea, the dust was taken by the wind directly to the food (it should be done before or after the breakfast time). The pool is small, and I mean really small for swimming (like 5 meters of swimmable length, the rest is too shallow). The safe in our room was broken. The wing in the air-condition was missing (room 213). Breakfast was satisfying, tasty and reasonable wide, but everyday the same. The calabaceira juice was fermenting at least two days.

This was my first visit to Praia, and staying at Pestana Trópico truly set the tone for an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the level of service exceeded every expectation. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. They were incredibly helpful with local recommendations, arranging restaurant bookings, and even securing a driver for a full-day tour around the island—everything felt taken care of with ease. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with perfectly functioning air conditioning—an essential comfort in the Cape Verdean climate. I also really appreciated the private outdoor seating attached to the room, offering a quiet space to unwind. A special thank you to Carlos Brito at the reception, whose kindness, professionalism, and proactive help made a real difference. His assistance and friendly approach added a personal touch that I truly won’t forget. Overall, Pestana Trópico delivered far beyond a typical hotel stay—it offered genuine hospitality and peace of mind. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Praia.

We had a really lovely one-week stay - the location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the town and a nearby beach. The pool area is lovely, well-maintained and perfect for relaxing, with great bar snacks and amazing cocktails! The hotel food is really good, especially the bar snacks. While some rooms are quite dated, the best ones are at the end of the building with beautiful views over the pool and sea. The staff were friendly and accommodating and let us to use a room after we'd checked-out to freshen up before our late flight. A great stay overall and would definitely recommend for a week in the sun!
