We had a wonderful family Christmas holiday at this lovely hotel. Fantastic sea view from our room 802. The food was very good. We enjoyed every meal especially the Christmas Day Gala. All of the staff are wonderful, helpful and very welcoming. Except for the lady at the beach bar she was always rude and very unwelcoming. So we used the top bar by reception for drinks during our stay. Here the staff were very friendly and always had a lovely smile on their faces. Overall it was a wonderful holiday. Thank you Kevin, Ricardo and Sara who were all kind and friendly thought out our holiday xxx

Literally just arrived today. FIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER! We got keys to our room to early - walked in and it was evidently not cleaned after last guests left! Cleaning girl was shocked when she walked in and we were already there. We've gone for a walk around but there was no chance for her to do through job in like 15 min. Bathroom wasn't cleaned properly (don't really feel like showering when there's someone else's hair in the bathtub 🤢) and there was rubbish left outside on the trace, no trash bags in bins etc. NOT comfortable first experience! Definitely would prefer to be told in the lobby that we need to wait - could have had drinks by the pool and go to ready, clean and comfortable room! Had to add edit to this - hotel staff reacted to my comment straight away asking about the situation in very nice way. We thought that would be it but today as a total suprise we got delivered a hand written note with apologies and a lovely bottle of wine. Amazing and professional reaction from the hotel ♥️

We stayed here whilst waiting for takeoff - after a sand storm. Hotel were kind and helpful. Great gym. Unlike some of the negative reviews - the staff spoke great english - better than my Crioulo!! and the rooms were passable too . Just a thank you from us for making stay comfortable as it could be.

Magnificent Beach Resort with Outstanding Service! I have been staying at the Occidental Boa Vista Beach for three wonderful weeks, and I have enjoyed an absolutely exceptional holiday – I am truly sad to leave tomorrow. The architecture of the resort is beautiful and very charming. The small, mostly single- or double-storey houses are spread across a lovingly designed property that creates a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The location is simply stunning, situated directly on the beach with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. I was especially happy to have booked a lovely sea-view room (Room 304), which made my stay even more special. While the resort would certainly benefit from some renovation, this did not affect my enjoyment in any significant way. The overall charm, setting, and atmosphere more than make up for it. The pool area is spacious and beautifully designed, and I thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the large, warm pool. Due to the strong waves and currents — which are quite common on Boa Vista — swimming in the ocean was prohibited on many days, but this is nature and beyond the hotel’s control. I also used the gym occasionally; while it is a bit outdated, it still offers everything needed for a good workout. The cuisine was delicious and varied, with plenty of choice each day. It would be a lovely addition if champagne were included for All Inclusive guests, which would make the experience feel even more special. The service throughout the resort was consistently very good and genuinely friendly. I had a minor issue during my stay, and the director, Mr. Condeça, resolved it quickly and professionally — something I truly appreciated. The evening entertainment was great fun, and I particularly enjoyed the dancing at night. A very special thank you goes to Rider from the animation team, who always went above and beyond to ensure guests were happy and having a wonderful time. Having visited other hotels on Boa Vista — Voi Praia de Chaves, Riu Karamboa, and Riu Touareg — I can confidently say that I highly recommend this hotel. Its smaller size makes it feel more personal, more relaxed, and in my opinion, even more beautiful and charming than the larger Riu resorts. I leave with wonderful memories and will gladly return in three weeks – then with my lovely wife.

I spent in the hotel 7 days (Jan\Feb 2026) with my wife and 12y old kid. + Spacious rooms; Daily housekeeping; Close to the ocean (sandy beach); Friendly staff; Variety of food; Good Wi-Fi signal in the lobby. - Hotel requires decent renovation; Very poor Wi-Fi signal in the rooms; Very cold water in the swimming pool - almost nobody used it Windy weather - all 7 days with red flag: swimming no allowed;
