This was a short 2 nights stop for us in our Cape Verde holiday to multiple islands. We wished we could have stayed longer, as the room was super spacious and comfortable (except not door for the bathroom which is not my preferred design choice, but not really an issue to mark the rating down). The pool location makes it very postcard perfect, with the backdrop of the mountain, the ocean and all the beautiful boats. The location is 10/10, the breakfast was really good compared to others we had in hotels in CV before and the staff was always very kind and helpful.

Everything is relative so for Mindelo this is nice and food is reasonable or good by Cape Verde standards…. But!!! It takes a long time to come! On the three occasions we had lunch, each time it took over an hour to be served. Base that on mind before eating here.

We stayed at Mansa Hotel for one night before our return flight and had an extremely disappointing experience. We were required to prepay before being informed there was an ongoing wedding, which had not been mentioned in advance. Because of this, we were initially denied access to hotel facilities such as the pool and restaurant, and alternative solutions that were briefly offered were later withdrawn. The rooms did not match the photos online and were poorly maintained, with stained walls and dirty floors. Basic amenities were missing, including toilet paper, soap, and duvets, which required multiple trips to reception. The internet was not working, and reporting the issue resulted in no help. Breakfast was supposed to start at 07:00 but was not available until later, and the food quality was very poor. To make matters worse, we overheard staff making fun of our Portuguese, and their overall attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. We stayed in several places across São Vicente and Santo Antão, and this was by far the worst. I cannot recommend this hotel.

We had booked this hotel to have a nice, chill day by the pool after a few days of hiking on Santo Antão. After checking in and paying, we were informed that the pool, restaurant and outdoor area were closed, because there was a wedding. The staff then said that they could offer us to go to the pool area of one of two other hotels. We accepted, but then unfortunately it turned out that they weren't able to organize that after all. So, the whole point of booking this hotel was gone, and nobody seemed to care a lot about that 🤷 The next day we had an early flight, so I confirmed in advance with the reception that breakfast would be open from 7 AM so that we'd be able to eat. Unfortunately, the next day, at 7:10, nothing was ready and we had to get to the taxi and once again nobody seemed to care 🤷 Do you see the picture here? This is not a good hotel. It pretends to be fancy and professional, but in reality it's worn down and nothing seems to work very well or at all — and nobody cares. I mean, it's not like we suffered or anything, but this hotel is just a consistently disappointing, low-quality experience, so don't be too excited about your stay.

Could easily be great. Need more shade around the pool. Need to do more to get rid of flies at breakfast. Outside areas need painting. Could put up a sign outside to say where the hotel entrance is. Simple stuff, easy to fix. Staff could smile now and then. Rooms are nice. Was plenty of shade above our outside area. Good location.
