First of all, this hotel is definitely above Cape Verdean standards -though you also pay accordingly. The location is outstanding, especially if you book a sea-view room. The rooms are well equipped, the staff is generally friendly and helpful (especially the lady at the reception!!), and the breakfast is solid. However, considering the price level (around €250 per night) and the clearly European pricing in the restaurant, the service quality falls short. If mains cost €20 or more, European service standards should apply. This includes well-trained staff, efficient service, and at least BASIC English proficiency. In addition, the food quality at dinner did not meet expectations, unfortunately, none of the dishes we tried were convincing. I would definitely recommend the hotel itself, but not the restaurant. Instead, I strongly recommend eating at the many excellent local kitchens in Tarrafal, which offer much better value and quality.

Wonderful place! We had an amazing time at King fisher village. Our room was so incredible with double view on the ocean. The food and the service were perfect. People were very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is great. Eating fresh fish by the ocean with a nice glass of rosé CHA (wine from Cap Vert) I highly recommand this paradise place!

Very nice staff at the reception. On the other hand the Swiss waitress at the restaurant does not match the cap verdien vibes at all and seemed very off. Also some waiters didn’t speak English at all, which we would‘ve expected at this price level. The rooms and the location of the hotel are very nice! Also the pool area is amazing . The dinner was very mid while pricey. I would recommend eating outside when staying there.

Very friendly place, great food, and superb view from our room (306). Enjoyed a guided MTB ride up the volcano, plenty of other activities available, the access to dive into the tranquil lagoon is just great. There are major building works going on with the rooms at the back, but it didn't affect our experience.

Review King Fisher Village - Room with sea view We stayed at King Fisher for 4 nights. It is an authentic, familiar place where we felt very welcome. Our room was big enough for 2 with a beautiful sea view. The rooms, pool and restaurant were very clean. The breakfast buffet was fresh made with local and international choices. We also had dinner which was delicious and also very fresh. The price/quality ratio is acceptable. The staff were kind and friendly, always willing to help. Special shout out to the receptionist who gave me medication for car sickness (As the drive from Praia airport contains lots of turns). We went the first week of September (which is low-season), and it wasn’t very crowded in Tarrafal. The location gives you opportunities to explore the beach and go for a beautiful hike as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a mix of rest and adventure. Thank you for an amazing time. Joke & Stephanie
