We visited Terrafel to fish and chill out and this was a great place to stay. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The views are stunning and the terrace is such a great place to relax. Highly recommend!

Small guesthouse with cozy rooms and great ocean views. Dinners and breakfasts are tasty and filling, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Good value for money — a simple, comfortable place to stay.

The best location and host in Tarrafal Santo Antão! The house is beatiful, very well taken care of, with a unique view to the beach and sunset. Evandro was super helpful and nice, made the best Caipigrogue I have ever tasted!

Evan(dro) is a welcoming and sociable host. With his background growing up in Mindelo and married to a foreign wife, he has a different mindset from other rural hosts, which shows. His family renovated the building in the style of Portuguese architecture, which gives the building a special charm. The large common areas indoors and outdoors are great. While dinner wasn't served during the time of my style, Evan is happy to make recommendations, and breakfast and drinks are available. The elevated position provides a privileged views over the bay and is convenient for hikers looking to walk up the footpath or to the source of the river. Tarrafal is certainly on the more commercial side of locations on Santo Antão, but why not a bit of Instagram chic for a change? That said, a side trip to Monte Trigo is warmly recommended.

Beautiful place, quiet, tranquil, with a big sunny terrace under tamarind trees where they serve a delicious breakfast. We had fresh fruit, freshly made omlettes, homemade cake and warm bread rolls, hot milk for the coffee. A place to sit, contemplate, watch the ocean before deciding what to do with rest of the day. Our room was simple, clean, cool, with a view of the mountain side and the dramatic black sweep of the sandy bay. We went to sleep with the sound of bullfrogs calling :)
