Cleaning is not fantastic. It needs a really heavy cleaning and refurbishment in some places. Not only the rooms. I’ve stayed 7 nights and in 2 of them I took cold showers (can’t explain why). Swimming pools are good and it is at the beach, so you can stay between the beach and the pools all day long. Staff is amazing, super nice. The food is good, but the buffets are super crowded sometimes. My kids just loved these days there and so did I. But don’t expect a 5 stars hotel in all aspects. I would stay again, anyway

1st time to this hotel & Cape Verde Good points ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very well priced Clean Very friendly staff No mosquitoes Very consistent warm weather Good choice of food Well designed architecture Room service excellent Felt safe all the time Wifi in all areas, free and fast Other points Sea can be dangerous red flags up Sea breaks short creating strong breaking water which could easily cause injury. For those that went in on calmer days it was at own risk. The sea was warm but needs critical timing on exit! You are advised not to go in when red flag is up which is most of the time. Note it’s windy mostly about 25kph You are isolated & bare this in mind if you have medical conditions, since it is a small island with limited support. After recent media coverage i was worried about food safety & expecting to see a scene from the walking dead, however it was quickly observed this was far from the case. I only had bottled water, beer & wine, however my partner had ice in drinks & cocktails. Food choice to start with was well cooked, however at the end of the trip everything was eaten including raw fish at the excellent sushi resturant, no problems at all. Tennis courts were damaged & needed replacement, which TUI did tell us about. Would definitely come again for some guaranteed sun no jet lag & 6 hour flight from UK Areas of improvement & suggestions to the hotel May be a beach bar hut & sundown parties on the beach serving or selling bottles Shop needs reviewing. More variety & visible pricing. Prices were high so never bought anything, a bit like a tax on the ill prepared. In summary, one of the nicest places I’ve been to & great value for money, looking to come again next year.

This is the second time we have been to this hotel. It is so relaxing and everyone is friendly and nothing is a problem. The hotel definitely needs updating as I noticed more things needed attention i.e. the toilets, sinks, worktops, painting etc. even though all the staff including maintenance/ cleaning people do work very hard to keep it to a standard. The food was good and a lot of variety. We had problems booking the other restaurants as they're fully booked before you get there. We did get in the Italian, food good. I would of preferred it to be more waiter service than buffet, just makes a change. Snack area was ok but not stock up quickly. More snacky bits I think during the day. The sports bar is good idea buts needs to be bigger especially if the karaoke is on, people standing outside. I wouldn't say there is a lot for children to do but then there maybe more that I wasn't aware of. We will definitely come back when it's refurbished just to check it out. This is a good hotel! 4 stars overall because room needs updating and it's 30mins from main town, so there's nothing in walking distance from the hotel. Food decent, we could always find something we liked. I don't really do hotel entertainment, but if you wanted to sit down and listen to a band or ABBA etc it's nice. The pools were great, plenty of sunbeds when I went so no need for the mad dash in the morning. There are some old and unsightly tiles in the pools though, which really needs sorting as the look like black stains. Also, the jacuzzi in the gym and by the pool were not warm! The room was ok, and it was cleab. It was just a standard room but they need updating in my opinion. For example, my door handle fell off and there was a crack in the sink. When I called for someone to fix the door handle, the service was prompt and effective. The service everywhere was great, the staff do an excellent job. Bed was very comfortable and Aircon good. Beach was beautiful, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a shaded area. There are activities during the day, including beach volleyball at set times. Drinks were watered down as you would expect, but ask for extra rum etc and they're quite decent. Mojitos at the main reception bar were excellent. Beer and wine on tap for breakfast, lunch and dinner!! I didn't go to the bars at night. Booked the Italian which was still buffet style but had all Italian of course. Didn't get to book the other restaurants as we were only there for 3 days and restaurants needed to be booked 3 days in advance. Overall, great hotel for an easy beach resort getaway. Main town 25-30min taxi. Taxi's always outside if needed. Drive from the airport was 30mins, we just got a car at the airport for €30.

Absolutely beautiful holiday. Just spent 12 days in glorious hot sunshine! Our 3rd holiday on Boa Vista, 2nd stay at the Touareg. Yes the rooms are a little dated but they were cleaned daily and the view from our balcony was the best view we have had on our stays here, full view of the infinity pool, beach and sea, to watch the sun go down was amazing. There was always 2 bottled water in the fridge and 2 on the side with the tea tray. Only gripe if I have to have one is the tea tray wasn’t restocked after day 2, not a biggie as could get bits from the restaurant. Hence only 4 stars for the room. The staff are always smiling and can’t do enough for you. They work really hard in every position in the hotel from porters, gardeners to reception and above. The food was lovely and a nice variety was made available every day, hot, cold and desserts. Yes there are a few flies about, but it was no different to sitting in your back garden with a bbq and food on the patio table! If your looking for a stress free holiday with absolutely nothing to do than lie by the pool or on the beach with a good book or two, then this is the place. We look forward to visiting again after the hotel refurbishment.
