We stayed at the hotel from the 24th Feb to 3rd March and had a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful and the beach is amazing. It is very clean everywhere and all the staff work very hard. The food selection is superb and I had no complaints regarding the selection or quality of food during the whole stay. The bed was super comfy and water and soft drinks are provided in the rooms, as well as optics with various spirits. The only reason I have given the rooms 4 stars is that a 5 star hotel would provide dressing gowns and an iron etc, although this did not bother us at all, as the whole experience was very positive. I would stay again and I would recommend this hotel, and I do struggle to understand some of the negative comments. Also absolutely no reason at all to worry about food hygiene at this hotel as the food was 5 star for buffet style. The entertainment was good and the animation team work so hard and their shows were very enjoyable.

Absolutely Outstanding Stay at RIU Karamboa From the moment we arrived at the RIU Karamboa, we were instantly in awe of how stunning the hotel is. The modern design is beautifully thought out, and everywhere you look is eye-catching and impressive. The entire resort was absolutely spotless and remained immaculate throughout our two-week stay. We stayed in a standard twin room on the ground floor overlooking the beautiful gardens (room 7008), which was peaceful and perfectly located. The dining experience was the best we have ever had at an all-inclusive resort. There was an excellent variety of food available every day, with something to suit everyone. The quality and presentation were superb. The waitresses were always friendly, helpful and smiling, which made every meal even more enjoyable. The beach was pristine and very well maintained, and the pools were consistently clean and tidy. Honestly, we could not fault a single thing about this hotel — and believe me, I’m usually the worst critic! We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend RIU Karamboa to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway.

Karamboa – we did it again, third year in a row and it still gives us exactly what we come for: sun, sea, warmth and a proper reset from grey winter life. The resort is clean, well maintained and beautifully located right on a stunning beach between Sal Rei and Rabil. You might spot small signs of wear if you look closely, but nothing that affects comfort. The staff are genuinely warm and friendly — not scripted, just real — and that Cape Verdean calm energy is a big reason we keep returning. Even the wifi behaved this year. Food is good with plenty of choice every day. Yes, it’s all-inclusive so some repetition is normal, but the variety is there. The soups are still a highlight for me, the fish station is consistently excellent, and the veggie options are genuinely varied and tasty. À la carte restaurants are nice for a change of setting, though similar in quality to the buffet. Drinks are what you expect in a busy all-inclusive — some bartenders mix better than others — but overall more than fine for us. Entertainment brings good energy even if it repeats, and the gym is small but clean (finally with kettlebells, though the lonely 2 kg dumbbell is still there). Massages at Renova are excellent. We always recommend leaving the resort at least once — Perola, Alisios, Morabeza, Sal Rei, Rabil — and especially booking excursions with local providers like Enjoy Boa Vista for a much more personal experience. The only thing we’d skip is the TUI organised Morabeza BBQ. Overall, bugs were barely an issue, BUT! the growing number of cats could use some structured attention. Overall, it depends what you value, but for us — location, people, weather, atmosphere — it absolutely works. We’re already set coming back next year.

Absolutely loved our recent stay at the Karamboa hotel. The service received during our 11 night stay was excellent. Rooms were cleaned daily, every other day the mini bar was restocked, always had plenty of bottled water, soft drinks and beer in the room . The food was lovely with an extensive range to meet everyone’s palette, staff were always happy to help and work extremely hard ti keep the resort was spotlessly clean. We did two trips, full day 4x4 sight seeing tour and sunset dinner, Both were value for money and we both had a fabulous time. The entertainment was fabulous, the team worked so hard. We will definitely be returning in the near future, thank you for such an amazing stay ❤️xxx

We had a lovely stay. The rooms are clean and tidy and plenty of room, to store clothing in the wardrobe. There is a safe for valuables. The restaurants serve lovely food and there is plenty to choose from,such as fish and various meats. We travelled with friends one of which is a vegetarian and she had no complaints of the food on offer. The hotel was very clean and tidy and reception staff were friendly and professional and enjoyed talking to us. The staff in the restaurant and cleaners and the animation team were fantastic. Always happy, took time to speak with us. The evening entertainment was good, with a trio, in which the vegetarian vocalist was superb. The staff performed themed nights and tribute shows. The Friday night RIU party ( white) was excellent. The beach was sandy and ready access from the hotel, with plenty of sun beds, not only on the beach but plenty around the various pools. All round brilliant stay !!!!
