Our stay at Hotel Pérola was a very disappointing experience. The hotel is in desperate need of renovations. There were a number of issues with the facilities which are far from the 4 star rating and the price range (more than 400 euros for 3 nights). The issues start immediately as we arrived since the front door struggles to open! I booked a superior room but was surprised to see the ceiling had mold, the shower was broken in several places, also full of mold and both the sheets and carpet had stains. The room smelled bad at random times, the mini bar had no prices, and despite cleaning daily, the staff left dirty glasses and towels on the floor for two nights in our room. There were also no toileteries or water provided and the shower was cold on day 2 of our stay. We complained to the staff and nothing was done. On top of all, they made me pay the complete booking on arrival before even seeing the room... Pool area very old, stained chairs and bar was closed our whole stay. Very deceiving experience overall and the staff did nothing to help or mitigate the issues. Would advise anyone to skip. Only the view and location was good..

Very clean, good service, excellent breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner buffet. The rooms are nice and modern. The TVs could be bigger. The mini bar has good collection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with very reasonable prices. The location is nice and close to downtown and the market. The walk to the Plateau is approximately 15 minutes. The balcony has a very nice view to the town and the harbor. I would definitely go back there again.

For the price, not worth it. The first bald man we met at the entrance is not welcoming (barely a hello, was honestly rude) even though we have spent hundreds of euros for the room (we met two other receptionists who were really nice and indicated to us everything we needed - a younger man as well as a woman who were really top notch). The staff at the restaurant is rude and clearly do not like their job (especially the morning ladies who rush us into finishing our meal at 10:31). The rest of the hotel is ok, not 4 stars worthy but the gym and the pool are great. Unfortunately when we arrived, they let us in the room even though it was not cleaned properly (trash was filled, there were no amenities.) Pretty disappointing experience overall. Thank you to Edilson who was always really caring and helped us carry our luggage.

Stayed for 3 nights, following standard items were missing in the room; blanket, paper tissue, soap, slippers. Breakfast was acceptable but lunch and dinner wasn't so good. Location is at a walkable distance to beach.

Great position with views of the presidential palace. Easy to walk to Plateau, and the beaches. Road outside was busy, so bring earplugs for the balcony rooms out front, these also don't have lift access (only stairs), so consider a cheaper room if that's an issue. The traffic also makes these rooms a bit pointless paying the extra for as it's not relaxing, despite a decent view of the bay. Our room smelt faintly of weed on arrival, which went away once the air-conditioning had been running a while. Presumably a previous guest had been smoking inside. Hot water was variable, often exhausted in the morning but more available at other times. I had a superb shower at 3am when we arrived for example. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Staff at reception were quite helpful.
