The Owners warm welcome, great breakfast and Support make up for the location, which is not in the center. There is a bus straight to the center and taxis are cheap so all is good. Value wise it is superb.

Guesthouse Emaly was our first stay during our two-week stay in Cape Verde. We stayed here for six nights during Carnival. One word: fantastic! Taco (69) and Anthonia (66) are a couple and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. We received a warm welcome from the airport. Furthermore, the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious (and varied). Good to know: - The bus (line 1) is a 90-second walk from the guesthouse and takes you to the city center, the ferry, or Praia da Laginha. Very convenient and comfortable! The bus runs until 10:00 PM and costs 42 Escudos per person. A taxi (recommended for the evening) costs 250 Escudos per trip. - The breakfast is so generous that you can often bring an extra sandwich for lunch. Handy if you're planning a day trip! Fun activities to do: 1. Hike Monte Verde (just take the cobblestone road all the way up and back. The round trip takes about 3.5 to 4 hours in total. At the top, there's a teahouse for coffee, tea (or Groc). It also combines well with a visit to Baia da Gatas. 2. Hike to the lighthouse in São Pedro. The round trip takes about 1.5 to 2 hours in total. 3. Hike the volcano in Calhau and then have dinner at Chez Loucha on Sunday (with all the Cape Verdean families). I would recommend Guesthouse Emaly to everyone!

We felt right at home! Thank you to our hosts for their kindness and helpfulness. Breakfast is plentiful and varies daily. It's a little out of the way, but very well served by bus line 1. Go without hesitation!

Personnel très sympathique et serviable. Je recommande absolument pour toute personne voulant avoir une expérience d'hébergement façon authentique capverdienne! Very kind and serviceable people. I absolutely recommend it for anybody seeking the authentic cape verdean experience!
