I had never thought that I could love so much being far from everything and everyone. This b&b hotel is 23 km from the port, let's say in a very remote area. However, even though, this is the heaven of heavens. - Location is just simply spectacular. - Rooms are nice and clean with an amazing view just above the sea. - Restaurant with fresh food everyday. - Market just below the rooms. - Mountains all around for great hiking. - WiFi in the rooms. - TV and champions League in the restaurant. This is the best choice you can take, ever!!!!

It has amazing views from the balcony and is directly on the sea - but unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can say about it. This is the only place we've been where the staff was mostly annoyed at our arrival and not very helpful. It took us several attempts to tell them that the wifi was "really" not working so they could fix it. I speak four languages and seemed to be the only one trying to communicate. I guess to stay there you have to actually speak creol or perfect Portuguese. A big no-no was the showers! Not only was the water cold but there was barely any water coming out of the shower at all, which definetly is not what you want after a day of intense hiking. The biggest problem however is getting away. Traffic to Janela is scarce and pretty much only coincides with the ferry times. It is much easier to get an Aluger from Paul or Ribera Grande, so here the money you save on accommodation would be spend immediately on taxis again. We have not tried the food, but breakfast was not included. The hotel is right on the road so there really is only a shop and the one restaurant in the same building, so if you want choices this might be a bit hard. All in all not a great and recommended experience, unless you really enjoy the bargain and have your own car.

The hotel is very clean and new. A fantastic view of the sea, with the waves crashing just 20 meters away. The food was good.
