Lovely little place for a freshly prepared lunch. Food is amazing as well as the views from the balcony. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!

A true gem in the Paul Valley! We had lunch at Gaspard with my husband after a hike in the beautiful Paul Valley, and it was absolutely perfect. The address is run by a French woman, and you can really feel the care and passion behind everything. The view is breathtaking, there’s also a lovely small shop with local products, and all the food is homemade. It’s a refreshing and refined alternative to the more rustic traditional Cape Verdean cuisine. The appetizers were amazing, the bouchon/Ignams were excellent, and the fish soup was simply outstanding. The cuisine is delicat and thoughtful. And thankfully, we saved room for dessert: coconut profiteroles and biscuit caramel ice cream… absolutely to die for 🤪 A must-stop if you’re visiting Santo Antão and looking for something a bit different from the island’s usual cuisine.
