My mum and I had an amazing time at Farinha de Pau! We did not have a place to stay in Sao Nicolao and were almost going to cancel our trip but Sergio was nice enough to finish up a room for us to stay in last minute. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable but simple, which is the point here I think. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the quiet and absolutely beautiful surroundings and simplicity of life on this not very touristic island! What stood out though, was how much time Sergio took to make our stay as comfortable as possible and give good recommendations for hikes, restaurants, diving/snorkeling and anything to do on the island! Simone also cooked delicious dinners, a bit more pricy than usual, but definitely worth it for us, especially since all the ingredients are fresh and homemade! Thanks again for everything

I stayed for 2 nights, and truely enjoyed the quietness of the place, the coziness of the rooms and the homemade food by Simone. The place is perfect for hiking (coming from Ribera Brava or going to the nearby piscinas or Carderinho) and Simone is a lovely host. I'll definitely come again!

Perfect place to stay and clean your mind! The rooms are very stylish with différèrent local stuff! Hot water, wifi, amazing home made food! And besides you have trekking routes just here close to the place! The owner is helpful and nice! And Skooby🐶miss him! Highly recommended!!

I spent seven nights in this eco-lodge, and it was an extraordinary experience. Although you won't find luxury here, the ingenuity of the host, Sergio, and his idea of ​​creating everything with his own hands without using additional materials are truly admirable. This property is a true work of applied art – unique and inspiring. This place is definitely not for everyone. I recommend it especially to explorers and true travelers seeking unique experiences. The atmosphere is extraordinary. Mrs. Simone, who cooks for guests, will present authentic local cuisine. Their hospitality makes you feel like part of the family. For travelers and adventurers! The local cat will happily sleep in your room. Sergio's tips on local attractions are invaluable. If you're looking for an apartment with air conditioning or an all-inclusive package – avoid this place, as it's simply not for you! If you're looking for a place full of character and closeness to nature, yet offering something completely different from standard accommodations – this eco-lodge is the perfect choice!
