A charming place to relax and explore this peaceful village in a spectacular setting. Beautifully maintained with incredible views at the foot of the volcano. The people are very friendly and attentive, always willing to help. Delicious food and, above all, tranquility. 100% recommended. A real treat to discover the surrounding area and its people from there.

Very nice, simple accommodation, well-maintained and lovingly decorated. Hélèna cooked us excellent meals, and the breakfast with the delicious goat cheese was also a dream. And that was early in the morning at 5:30 – well-fortified for the climb to Pico do Fogo! And after the hike, the wine tasted really good!

We had an extraordinary stay with Cecilio and Hélèna. Their welcome, their energy, their kindness, and their stories delighted us. Thanks to both of them, we'll definitely be back! I almost forgot to mention that the food is delicious. Don't hesitate to try the Fogo wine tasting, it's fantastic!

Cicillio and Hélèna are truly wonderful hosts who run their guesthouse with passion and warmth. The rooms are simple but very well-maintained and clean. The gardens surrounding the rooms and the restaurant are a feast for the eyes, and not just for botany enthusiasts. We were also treated to a wine tasting, where Cicillio told us a lot about the local wine culture and life in the crater. Even as a non-wine drinker, I diligently sampled the delicious wine and spirits ;) The food is also fantastic, all organic and cooked with love. Thank you so much for the wonderful time, and see you next time!

We didn't have the chance to stay there... but we did eat there several times, and the food is simply divine! It's fresh, organic, and prepared right in front of you in an open kitchen. The restaurant hosts are lovely and friendly. I highly recommend it before heading out on a hike or returning from the volcano! The portions are very generous, for a small budget. A must-see in Chas de Caldeiras!
