Passive aggressive behavior from night staff. Ordered red wine with my meal. Was bought rum instead. Instructed server to bring red wine, which he never did. Then charged for rum drink anyways. I enjoyed this place, but serves don't dictate what someone orders. I would know working for several Michelin and fine dining restaurants throughout the U.S. Also dangerous for someone who has food allergies. No honey for people with celiac disease. Do better. You lost a repeat customer. Day staff is top tier though and I highly recommend for lunch only since they're able to listen.

I didn’t stay at the hotel but only ate at the restaurant. And that was … world-class. Perfectly executed fish, the best in two weeks on the island. Updated: This is now officially my favorite restaurant in Mindelo; I have most likely been here at least 20 times during five weeks (have lost count 😂). Added a picture of the delicious shrimp omelet.

I've eaten here most nights because it is just that good! All the food is prepared perfectly! Sautéed welks and sesame crusted seared tuna are a couple of my favorites. Plus the girls bring me a beer as soon as I walk in!

We stayed at Casa Café Mindelo and had a pleasant experience overall. The room was decent – a bit noisy due to the music, but that didn’t bother us. It had air conditioning and plenty of space, though the bathroom could use some updating and refurbishment. What really stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food was amazing, both in quality and value. One especially thoughtful touch was that they prepared breakfast for us early before our departure – a small gesture that made a big difference. All in all, a great stay thanks to the warm hospitality and excellent food. With a few upgrades to the bathroom, it would be perfect.

Superb place and authentic charm of the city. Singers at night. Food is really good and local while having options for everybody.
