It was the closest restaurant to the place where we stayed in Sal Rei and it was recommended by the apartment's owner so we tried it. We took mixed fish (3 different kind), vegetable balls with tomato sauce and the goat cheese with honey. The food was nicely arranged and tasty. We liked a lot especially the cheese - it's a nice and original dessert (however listed as appetizer. For dessert it's usually served with papaya jam), merging sour and sweet taste. We would just remove the cream from it, as it's completely unnecessary.

We visited twice for dinner and once for breakfast, and the food was consistently very good in terms of taste. However, the portion sizes at dinner varied noticeably, and the waiting times were quite inconsistent. Our first dinner arrived quickly, while the second took over an hour — and we noticed neighboring tables also waiting a long time for their meals. Another odd detail: on the first evening, our dessert included two flambéed bananas, while on the second evening it was only one. Overall, it’s a place worth trying, but be aware that the experience can vary.

I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere as a whole! We had breakfast and dinner here a few times and every time the portions were big and very nicely cooked. Te staff and the owner were very nice and helpful too. Long story short, it was a succes story ☀️

I eaten in this restaurant tonight and the fish soup was unfortunately, not what I was expected. The fish was pureed without anything, no oil, no salt... The grilled fish was nice but again, the vegetables was only boiled. No salt, no oil. It could be typical from here but I'm not an expert. However, what left me very disappointed was the bills. I asked to put the soup in a takeaway box, the charged me 1.50 euros plus, because I paid by card, they charged me 2.5% more on top of my total bills. Definitely, I will never recommend a restaurant like this.

This place was just down the road from where we were staying which was so lucky. We visited six times in our week stay for either lunch or dinner. We tried different dishes every time which was all really good (especially the fish dishes). We often had three course meals and the price was so good. The staff were attentive but relaxed which is what we like. Would recommend to anyone visiting Sal Rei!
