First of all, I would like to thank the reception staff for their hospitality in any matter. Secondly, this has been one of the best breakfasts in our long history of traveling... And, believe me, my wife and I, we have been to many hotels and many countries. The hotel rooms with sea view have a very good view of the beach and the ocean. The center of Praia is also relatively within walking distance. In other words, I would definitely recommend "Barcelo Praia" to anyone visiting Praia. You will not regret it.

We spent two nights at this great hotel, which is easily the best option in Praia, and had a very good stay. The location is excellent for exploring the area, with quick access to both the beaches and the city centre, and the facilities are well maintained. The rooms are clean and offer great ocean views, which really enhance the experience. Service throughout the hotel was consistently friendly and helpful. Thanks to Erica and Elton at the front desk for their warm welcome and excellent advice. The bar and restaurant teams were also exceptionally friendly, with a special mention to Junior and the lady preparing omelettes at breakfast. Food quality and variety were very good, and breakfast offered a solid range of fresh options. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was another highlight. One practical note: if you are staying over a weekend and your room faces Prainha, the small city beach, expect noise throughout the night, as nightlife continues until the morning (music until around 2 am, followed by voices and laughing and shouting after). Overall, this is a comfortable, well-run hotel with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to return.

We had a fantastic stay at Barcelo Praia Cape Verde. The room was perfect with a beautiful sea view and first class facilities. The staff were brilliant and very professional. A special mention must be given for Elvis, ever smiling and friendly, and Karine, who was also a welcoming face every time we entered the bar area - both a great example of the professionalism of all the staff.

Very comfy hotel, right next to a small beach. The bar and restaurant offers a good range of food and beverages, and the breakfast restaurant offers many choices, all of a high standard. The staff are very helpful, friendly and polite, an absolute pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Barcelo Praia Cape Verde, and would happy stay again.

We spent a few days at the hotel. The location is beautiful, a great starting point for exploring the area, and the facilities are very well maintained and attractive. The service and food at the bistro are excellent, compliments to the kitchen! As well as the pool overlooking the ocean is amazing. A major downside, however, is that all Ocean View rooms are advertised and sold (written & shown in the pictures on the website) as having a balcony or terrace, which is not accurate. We were given a room without a balcony and without even a window that could be opened. This is clearly a misdescription. Luckily, we were able to switch rooms on the second day, even though it was to a standard room facing the back (but with balcony and still has a wonderful view), but unfortunately without any gesture of goodwill. It is also misleading that at check-in you are told you can charge everything to your room and settle it at check-out, which then does not work and you have to go back later to pay. Of course, the service staff cannot be blamed for this, the reception should simply mention at check-in that you need to provide an additional deposit or a credit card to use this feature. Despite these issues, we truly enjoyed our stay.
