We just got back from a 10 day stay here and I can’t recommend the hotel enough! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. The food was excellent ! We ate at the buffet for most meals. It is a small buffet but we loved this as all the food was fresh and very well prepared! Lots of delicious fresh fish, vegetables, salads and the meat options looked great too (although we are vegetarian so didn’t try them). The pool is beautiful and we spent most of our time here - the atmosphere is so relaxing, we feel so rested and wish we could go back! The beach is also great - you can definitely swim in the sea but I would recommend bringing some sea shoes as it is a bit rocky. But the sea is beautiful and clean! Our room was great - clean and spacious. And lastly we went on a half day trip of the island and it was beautiful! Untouched white sand beaches, amazing caves and turquoise seas ! If you are looking for a relaxing stay, where you can fully switch off and just enjoy yourself in the sun, you should stay here! Thanks so much to all the team at Barcelo! 🤩🌞🌊

We stayed 5 nights at Barceló Marine Hotel (all-inclusive) and it was a wonderful surprise! The staff are amazing — genuinely kind and attentive. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily with care. Great cocktails, varied food, and live music almost every night made the atmosphere special. You can really see they’ve listened to past reviews and improved a lot — from the check-in to the dining options, everything was excellent. A special thank you to Edilene (responsible for booking tours) — always smiling and so helpful organizing our fantastic 4-hour tour in the south of Boa Vista. Every guest feels valued here — highly recommended!

A great place to relax and unwind. Good selection of food in the buffet restaurant with plenty of fresh fish. Rooms are clean and functional many with great views out to sea. The gardens are beautifully kept and the staff always helpful and friendly. Don't come here if you want 24hr razzle dazzle it's a place to chill out. As they say here "No Stress" Thanks for a great stay. 👍😀

Currently on our last day here, hands down this place is paradise. Genuinely incredible from start to finish and literally cannot find a single fault with this incredible resort. The location is staggering, beach front hotel with sun loungers aplenty and lifeguard constantly on duty, yes it’s wavy but it’s so much fun and there is plenty of opportunity for calm seas in the nearby city of Sal Rei. The food is wonderful and the theme changes daily, plenty of choice and a wonderful selection of salads, fruits, hot plates and a self serve ice cream counter! Also Coca Cola machine and beer tap to serve yourself to!! Rooms are large, clean and comfortable with private outdoor seating. Now the staff here are the jewel in the crown. All attentive, friendly and so welcoming. A special shout out to Patrick and Paolo manning the Teatro bar, so kind and cannot do enough to ensure you have the best night possible. Cocktails are knock out every time and always service with a smile and a laugh. I could go on for days but I won’t, anything negative you read on TUI ignore, this is 5* for Cape Verde and 4* for UK standards (I’d argue 5*). I wouldn’t trust anyone who has any serious negatives to write about this place, it’s hard to please anyone like that. it’s wonderful and it’s fantastic value for money. We’ll be back and I already can’t wait. Thank you Barcelo Marine Hotel and all of its wonderful and attentive staff, holiday of a lifetime!

We loved our stay at Barcelo! The hotel is clearly renovated, the facilities are clean and the location is amazing - it's right on a beautiful hill which is now my favorite view :) The food was really good, although i was a little bit disappointed with the choice of cocktails - there were only 4 or 5 basic ones included in the AI. Nevertheless the staff makes sure your glass is always full during the meals :) There were themed dinners, seafood everyday and we could always find something yummy :) The staff was incredibly friendly and professional and spoke good English - we had some issues that were instantly resolved. A big plus for the staff with regard to the pool activities - we were encouraged but not forced to take part, which sometimes is a big issue in these kind of resorts 😅 There was not much to do on the evenings - only live music - but we appreciated that a lot :) Lastly, the guests were mostly older people, and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing, so take that into consideration - if you're looking for a party, that's definitely not the place. The rooms were a bit small but clean, renovated and very pretty. Overall it was a great stay and I highly recommend it :)
